BEEKEEPER
My story
I was born in Athens in 1961 but grew up in different parts of Greece and Belgium due to my father's profession.
Στα νεανικά μου χρόνια με κέρδισαν οι Ένοπλες Δυνάμεις και η αγάπη προς την Πατρίδα. Αποφοιτώντας από την Στρατιωτική Σχολή Ευελπίδων υπηρέτησα με πίστη και αφοσίωση το στρατιωτικό επάγγελμα σε όλη την Ελληνική επικράτεια και την λαβωμένη μας Κύπρο. Διοικώντας για πολλά χρόνια Μονάδες και Υπομονάδες του Στρατού Ξηράς, είχα την ευκαιρία να έρθω σε επαφή με τον αγροτικό κόσμο και την παντοδύναμη Ελληνική φύση.
When I retired in 2007, I had already been won over by the countryside and my place of origin, Naxos.
I had a second career in the private sector, this time as Manager of the insurance branch of INTERSALONIKA in Naxos Town from 2007 to 2020, which I oversaw the establishment and establishment of in Naxos and in the wider Cyclades region. At the same time, I did all kinds of agricultural work, but what captivated me was beekeeping. I admired the bee society for its harmonious coexistence, the hierarchy, the duties of its members, the planning and the self-sacrifice of the workers. This wonderful world of bees is a source of inspiration for me and a motivation for my activity in this field.
Starting from a zero base with a lot of love, passion, persistence and great effort, I gained the necessary knowledge and experience and developed the apiary in Apollo, Naxos, in ancestral and non-patrimonial lands, with steady small steps.
To Apollo because I loved Apollo in my childhood for the joys of the sea and the lullaby in the lapping of the waves, in my youth for the answers I got to my youthful quests and in my mature years for the majesty of nature and the fruits that she gives generously to us if we also respect her and treat her with reverence.
Already in 2020, my beekeeping establishment has been certified by the Region in Syros as EL82/1296, while I have passed to EC farmer status.
The start of the new decade now finds me devoted almost exclusively to my beloved beekeeping which won me over completely. Following the dictates of nature, I have adapted my technique and depending on the season the products produced in the apiary can be: flower honey in early spring, thyme honey in summer, heather honey in autumn, wax, propolis and royal jelly.
Inspired by the wonderful world of bees and my own beekeeping practices respectively, are distinguished by discipline, planning, following rules with religious reverence that leads to the production of pure beehive products. After all, this is proven by the laboratory tests published over the years.
We continue with the help of God, dynamically, honestly and honorably in the new decade that is dawning, serving beekeeping and the people who trust us.
